This is a great solution for existing, structurally sound concrete that needs a fresh, new, or decorative appeal. Most overlay projects range from micro toppings that go down as thin as a few sheets of paper, up to 1/2” in thickness. Historically cements applied on top of concrete have been considered a risky procedure, or a short term fix. But with todays polymer based cements combined with some bullet proof preparation techniques that we consider ‘standards’ such as mechanical grinding or shotblasting a floor, we make sure that anything we apply to the concrete is as solid as the concrete itself.
Proper floor prep is a major part of any cement overlay, and we take our floor prep very serious. Overlays are also still an option when vapor or moistures issues are a concern, please see our MOISTURE MITIGATION section for more information. Cement overlays can be Stamped, polished, stained, or even installed as an underlayment in preparation of other flooring
